What is ethical jewellery?

All my jewellery is created with a conscious effort to minimise the impact on society and the environment.  This means considering the origins and lifecycle of all my materials.

I only use recycled silver in my work, and being silver it can go on being recycled forever.

The only mined gemstones I use are second-hand.  Either I buy them second-hand, or I recover them from old or scrap jewellery. The only new stones I ever use are laboratory created.  This means that no-one has had to work in unsafe or unhealthy conditions; that there has been no mining of the earth; or use of scarce resources in the production of my jewellery.

All the packaging can be re-used or recycled.

The name Secuba means ‘second born’, and this reflects my philosophy of ethical jewellery.
